Prof. Zhang Longxi holds a Master's degree from Peking University and a Ph.D. from Harvard University. He is also an honorary member of the Royal Swedish Academy of Letters, History, and Antiquities and a foreign member of the European Academy of Sciences and Arts. He is currently a professor at Hunan Normal University. He has taught at Peking University, Harvard University, and the University of California, Riverside. He has also served as the President of the International Comparative Literature Association. His research focuses on Sino-Western cross-cultural studies, Chinese literature, European Renaissance and 17th-century literature, and world literature. He has published numerous bilingual monographs and papers in both Chinese and English, including Critical Essays on Western Literary Theory in the Twentieth Century and Breaking Out of the Cultural Closed Circle.
